In Privacy Tools / History Cleaner there are entries shown for Microsoft Office 97.

I've only ever run Office 2007 on this PC. I suspect this could be a Microsoft problem rather than a JV16 PT one.

Can anyone else with Office 2007 check this please.

Running XA-Pro-SP3, I only installed Office 2003 on my system, never an other Office system.

However in the Privacy Tools -> History Cleaner Office 97 is mentioned.

jv16PT-2010-build 961 is a version with still 'quite some' debug code.

Do you have plans for a jv16 version without most of the current debug code?

That the Beta's and RC1's showed up as ONE in the 'Software Uninstaller' is well explained by the developer.

All RC1 versions have the same product name and the same is true for Beta7 etc.... But now the official product has its own unique name.

So I expected that the official jv16 Power Tools 2010 would now show up in the Software Uninstaller as a separate item, like it does in the Revo software.

But it does NOT (yet?) Only jv16 Power Tools 2009 shows!

In Windows uninstaller both entries show.

Also, why does the Uninstall.exe in the jv16 Power Tools 2010/Uninstall folder not work?

It is not a big issue, as I have other methods to uninstall Power Tools, I was simply wondering?

Neither.

So you have ONLY installed jv16PT v2.0.0.961, and this version does NOT show in both Windows Add/Remove software and jv16PT SW Uninstaller?

This Uninstaller issue has been a discussion item during beta testing too.

I have installed jv16PT 2009 version 606 AND 2010 version 961 and did a thorough CLEAN UP for all other versions I have tested/used before!

Windows Add/Remove shows both my versions, however the size is not displayed for v 2.0.0.961. Revo uninstaller shows both. But jv16PT v961 SW Uninstaller only shows jv16PT-2009 v606.

I think this issue should be moved to topic "jv16 Power Tool 2010" and even BugTracker.

Yes, I get this 'invalid start mode' too. I can only 'officially' uninstall jv16PT v2.0.0.961 by using the uninstall icon from the program start menu created during install.

Did you try once to uninstall (using the the uninstall icon from the jv16 Power Tool 2010 program start menu) and reinstall v2.0.0.961?

If this does not change anything, I quess this issue should be reported in Bug Tracker.

One thing to add to this is that PT 2010 is showing the 2010 uninstall registry entries as invalid now as is the Registry Cleaner in CCleaner.

I've looked at this a little longer and did the following.

1. Uninstalled jv16 PT 2009 (this bit doesn't apply to AL K. Hall)

2. Reinstalled PT 2010 over the top of my already installed 2010.

3. During installation I checked "Make shortcuts available to all users"

4. Complete installation.

This seems to work ok now and the uninstall entries exist.

I feel that the uninstall problem coul be down to a permission issue as previously I had not checked "Make shortcuts available to all users" radio button, only "Install shortcuts for current user only"

Now I feel rather foolish; I reinstalled jv16 Power Tools and left the 'Add to Programs and Features' box checked

(I have always unchecked all the boxes because I prefer not to install extra shortcuts, translations, etc.), and I now have an entry in the Windows Uninstall list as well as CCleaner.

I suppose I should really take the time to carefully examine all the options when installing.

Anyway, it appears that there is actually no problem, and I apologize for wasting everyone's time.

Thank you Doogie. I actually did the same! So the 'problem' is solved but I fear that others will misinterpreted this too.
