The "s" form is used instead of the "z" form per recommendation of forum users.

The 'z' form is used in most, if not all, other instances throughout the program. For consistency, I recommend using 'z' in this case.

I have now changed it to "analyzed" form. Seems like the "z" form is the American English version and the "s" form is the British English, am I correct? In that case, I think we should in fact use the "z" form because other parts of the program uses American English as well.

Without an Internet connection the Description field should be filled by file description data extracted from the exe file itself.

Same here, even with the network feature disabled, I do get descriptions for most of the items. There must be something else wrong.

The .dat file GlobalIgnoreList.dat looks very strange. Did you change the way this .dat file is constructed? On x64, in jv16 Settings>Advanced, it shows my A, G, H, and O drives in the list which is correct.

Yes, this is by design. To avoid any character encoding problems, all the PowerTools' configuration data that involves multiple lines of data, such as the Data field of the , are now encoded. This change was made a few weeks ago already, it was listed in the Change Log.

The bad thing is, of course, that now you cannot edit these settings manually but I didn't find any other solution. The old method of storing data was causing problems.

To reproduce this issue (for example):

1. Start Startup Manager with "Startup folder and basic registry items" as the initial selection (see first screenshot).

2. Click "All starting applications and libraries."

3. Several items in the new list are evidence of a bug (or bugs). See second and third screenshots.

As siliconman01 indicated in his screenshots above, the content of StartupCache.dat overrides the description from a program's properties.

However, the Startup Manager issue reported by RickSteele appears to be that descriptions from the properties of all the programs do not show on his x64 system.
