It doesn't appear as if I can even get the beta running on Win7 x64:

Run jv16 and the following error appears:

Capture1.PNG

Click on OK and this next dialog appears:

Capture.PNG

Click on OK and I get this dialog:

Capture3.PNG

I have tried a full uninstall and reinstall and this is repeatable.

Confirmed! It says the trial period has ended, etc.

I had to enter my Platinum VIP license to be able to use the program.

Registry manager

The section "New File" doesn't show any entry.

Registry Cleaner

Context Menu > Open in RegEdit doesn't work properly: it only opens the Registry Editor but not at the location of the selected key.

Main Menu > Shortcuts

The following shortcuts don't work (already reported formerly in pre-beta's)

  • - Control Panel

    - My Computer

    - Explorer

    - Drives

    - System Tools > Find files and folders

    - Run

When I click any of the four font boxes in Settings tool-->Basic interface, I get the pop-up shown below.

When I use Control Panel to look at the windows font settings, I see that the fonts named in Settings tool-->Basic interface boxes are not hidden. That is, they have "Show" in the Show/hide column.

Problem with Settings>Advanced Interface>"Highlight selected lines". As shown in the pictures, all lines highlight when clicking on the group +/-. If a line is unselected, it does not un-highlight.

Thanks for reporting your findings. Do the items also get checked as you click on the +/- button or just highlighted? Either way, I don't see this kind of behaviour on my computers. Here clicking on the +/- button only toggles the visibility of the group's items, as it should. I did however locate and correct the "unselected items not un-highlighting properly" bug you mention.

I also fixed the (un)installer issues you mentioned. The uninstaller still leaves one blank folder upon uninstalling, however as a workaround it will get deleted upon reboot. This is a limitation of the installer system we use.

That is probably because of this issue: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=22362#p22362

Or this one: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=22365#p22365

Or something similar.

There are quite a few cases where the GUI displays an incorrect key.

Interesting. This error message does not originate from PowerTools, it's shown by Windows when PowerTools asks it to show up the Font Selection dialog. Seems to be some sort of new feature of Windows 7.

Search with google with this error message gives only two results and neither have any solution to this issue. If anyone has any information about this issue, feel free to post it here.

A way to reproduce the problem:

1. Open PowerTools and open the File Tool.

2. Drag and drop (or use File - Add) a few files to the File Tool window.

3. Use the group's check box to select (i.e. check) all the files.

4. Now, uncheck the check box of the group, all the items are now unselected (i.e. no tick in the check box) but they all remain highlighted (blue) and there is no way to un-highlight them.

Note: This only works if you have "Highlight selected lines" checked under the Settings. The option is available under the Advanced Interface tab of the Settings window, the tab is visible only with the Advanced mode selected. The "Highlight selected lines" feature is disabled by default.

I'm not 100% sure if this is indeed the problem reported by siliconman01 but it's similar and is probably caused by the same bug.

Could you please go to them Main Window, the Debug menu and click "Test new Open Dialog"? It uses a different method to launch the Windows Open/Save Dialog. In my test setup of 64 bit Windows 7 it doesn't work either, though.

Perhaps this MSDN URL contains a clue to a solution: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms646958%28VS.85%29.aspx

I used Bing and searched for font selection dialogue "windows 7".

PT 2010 cannot gracefully handle dual+ monitors. Both of my computers have dual monitors and I use program DisplayFusion to control the monitors. All of the various windows of PT 2010 want to open on the primary monitor.

If, for example, I open PT 2010 on the primary monitor, move it to the secondary monitor, and then open the registry cleaner tool, the registry cleaner window opens on the primary monitor. And every window that subsequently is created opens on the primary monitor.

It is probably too late in the beta game for PT 2010, but PT needs a "open on same monitor as the previous window" variable so that multi-monitor systems can move PT 2010 to a desired monitor and work from there.

Gladly Delphi has a built-in support for multi-monitor systems. I did some tweaks that could solve the problem.

Is there a Debug Log anywhere that shows this issue? I'd like to double check something.
