Automatic Update

I just installed version 1.9.0.590 and have 'check for updates automatically', but it doesn't get the latest update.

What's wrong?

It might work if you delete C:\Program Files\jv16 PowerTools 2009\Settings\VersionUpdate.dat, then start PowerTools and try again.

After doing that, I had to wait about 15 to 30 seconds for the response:

Back again. It worked yesterday by deleting that file, tullik.

Today though, I ran power tools and again, no update notification.

I did not update, still running 1.9.0.590.

It's no big deal, just an annoyance.

That's intentional.

There are a couple of timestamps in C:\Program Files\jv16 PowerTools 2009\Settings\VersionUpdate.dat.

Wait a day or so and it will do the automatic thing again.

This is correct, the Check for updates feature actually connects our server at most once a day. This is to save our bandwidth.

However, the information about the available update should still remain visible in the Check for updates window...

Thanks all. So, is there any advantage upgrading to 606, or should I wait for PT 2010?

.590 is working fine for me now.
