escalader Hello: Been using jv16 PT 2009 for some time, good product. This is on a 32 bit cpu under windows xp sp3. I'm about to get a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit note book as well and want to know the status of your product on that setup. Thanks
jv16 jv16 PowerTools 2009 is compatible with 64 bit Windows 7. By compatible I mean that the program runs fine under Windows 7 and will not cause any problems, but the program is not optimized to work with Windows 7. The optimizations are coming with PowerTools 2010.
jv16 apgaut wroteIs 2009 optimized for Vista 64 bit? No it's not. It works under 64 bit Vista (as in it doesn't break anything), but a proper optimization for 64 bit systems is coming with the PT 2010 version.
jv16 javajeff wroteThe registry compactor does not work with Windows 7 64 bit, but did work with Vista 64 bit. This is correct, PowerTools 2009's Registry Compactor does not support Windows 7. This is due to changes to the Operating System by Microsoft. The next released beta version of PowerTools 2010 contains a Registry Compactor with Win7 support.
