FONTs deleted by registry cleaner

Hi,

I have a problem with the registry cleaner. I already posted this problem two times as a bug (in the bug tracker) but I never got an answer, so that's why I post it here now.

The problem is: when I run the registry cleaner (in safe mode), I get (among others) four entries which are said to be bad, but which actually can't be removed:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts\Verdana (TrueType) : verdana.ttf0H

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts\Verdana Bold (TrueType) : verdanab.ttf0H

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts\Verdana Bold Italic (TrueType) : verdanaz.ttf0H8a

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts\Verdana Italic (TrueType) : verdanai.ttf0HF

When I fix those entries with the FIX button, the Verdana font "disappears" from my computer. As a result, I can't find it back in OpenOffice, and some websites are not shown properly anymore in my browsers (last versions of Opera, FF, IE).

Is this a bug (and shouldn't those entries be listed)? or do I need to fix something in some way?

There are some funky characters in the list above. Did you use the File - Save List As feature to save the data? I am asking because these characters may be the reason for the problem in the first place.

This RegEdit export is from my Vista registry using Registry Finder. The items do not show as errors in Registry Cleaner.

Perhaps applying the export on your system will fix the apparent corruption in your "Verdana" entries.

First, you should look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\fonts\ with RegEdit to see if any other fonts have "funky" characters. All the data under that key on my system has only text characters ...

There is a small Registry Finder bug when it displays the values for this key's entries.

Namely, the values are simple text strings, but the list shows them as N/A.

This problem should now be fixed, thank you for reporting! The fixed version, that is, Beta1 of PowerTools 2010 will be released later in this month.

sorry for answering so late, I've been quite busy for my boss this week! :

I checked the entries I listed in my first post with RegEdit, and there I get exactly the same as Tullik, without funky characters.

So the problem only occurs in PT itself (again: very last version installed etc, see my first post for technical details)
