1. In Settings>Maintenance, include a "Delete Registry Compact Backups" that deletes all the *.bak_jv16 files that are created during a registry compact.

2. In Settings, add a feature to allow users to specify which disks are to be included as CacheDrives. This would eliminate the need to manually modify FileCache.dat by users with multiple hard drives and partitions.

3. In Settings, add a features to specify which partitions are to used by the Registry Cleaner. This would eliminate the need to manually add and modify SuperSoftwareIgnoreList.dat

I don't quite understand this one, could you please re-phrase?

Below is the link where SuperSoftwareIgnoreList.dat was first created in PT 2008. My current feature request is to have a Settings feature that permits the creation and setup of SuperSoftwareIgnoreList.dat

Is there a reason why using the Registry Cleaner's Ignore Words tab doesn't work for you?

SuperSoftwareIgnoreList.dat is in this format.

d:\

e:\

f:\

g:\

h:\

i:\

j:\

k:\

l:\

m:\

n:\

o:\

p:\

q:\

r:\

s:\

t:\

The original reason for the request back in 2008 was:

Reason:

Users, including myself, have dedicated disks as full system backups through such software as Casper or BounceBack. The intent of these disks is to provide recovery from a problem (user created or otherwise) or a catastrophic failure of the main operating disk or system. jv16 PowerTools 2008 should NOT tamper with anything on these recovery disks via the Software Manager or any other utility. Doing so defeats the whole intent of the recovery backup system.

And then you suggested:

Hmmm... Instead of a disk selector for Software Manager, how about a global ignore list feature that would allow you to disable PT from accessing a certain drive or directory with any tool, such as Software Manager or Registry Cleaner?

I'm assuming that it carried over from PT 2008 to PT 2009 and is to carry over into PT 2010. The need for it still exists on my system and also Tullik's (I assume).... and others who have clone backups.

Oh yes, I can see what I was thinking. A global Ignore List would solve your problem, and also allow other kinds of uses while a simple drive selected would allow you just to ignore certain drives.

I'll next add the support for a Global Ignore List, I'll report how it goes on my blog. I also implemented your request number 1 already.

Thanks much for your consideration on my requests and for your efforts to implement into PT 2010. 8)
