jv16 pt09 and acronis true image problems

Every time I run the registry cleaner at default settings and reboot, my installation of acronis true image home 2009 corrupts and I can't use the program anymore. I also get popup errors from the acronis program at startup. Any help would be welcomed. Thanks...

I don't have an answer to your problem per se, but one way of avoiding the problem is to make a bootable disc with T.I., then uninstall the program from Windows. When you want to use it, boot your computer from the disc you made.

I've always used T.I. this way and it works very well.

Try putting acronis in the "Ignore words" tab and repeat the Registry Cleaner run.

Does that workaround make the problem go away?

Do not 'fix' the Ownership and Permissions entries for Acronis.

Yup..... I've been unable to find a work around other than ignoring the Acronis entries. I believe the issue may be related to the fact Acronis needs special permissions to run scheduled tasks. I PM'ed you quite sometime ago as to the Acronis issue , but at that time I had no clue what was doing it, so the PM wasn't very informative. That said, it means that this isn't something new to this build, but goes back a ways. The time frames seem more related to intros of new Acronis releases, so the 'problem' may be on their side.

I have had this issue with older versions of True Image as well as jv16. Can this be addressed in an updated version of power tools?

This issue will be fixed in the next released version. That is most likely jv16 PowerTools 2010 Beta1, to be released in next month.
