Registry Cleaner kills VMware

When i run the Registry Cleaner tool, all at defaults, it seems to somehow hurt the VMware licensing mechanism, after a reboot, trying to run a virtual machine it asks for the license key, but wont accept the key. i tried excluding VMware from the cleaner but it wont help, nor do i find any mention of VMware doing a search in the scan results.

Can this issue be reproduced by running the Registry Cleaner? And does restoring the backup created by the Registry Cleaner solve the problem?

It is reproducible,. since i did it a few times thinking i used too aggressive settings on registry cleaner, then restored a backup image and rerun registry cleaner.

Restoring the backup created by JV itself does not solve the issue, only restoring a full partition image.

So did you use an aggressive setting, or the default settings?

Eventuality i used clean install with default settings, nothing changed.

I will try another pass tonight with the setting underneath default (weakest) see if that helps.

Quick update, running at lowest aggressive/safest mode doesn't cause this error, hope this helps isolating it.

In other words, the problem only occurs with aggressive setting?
