V1.9.0.580, Vista SP2 x64 Misses large block of Reg Errors

Am running Vista SP2 RTM x64 Business and latest PT 2009.

Yesterday, I ripped out the Nvidia Ageia software from my system because I am not a gamer and have no need for this component of the Nvidia software.

Following the removal of the Ageia software, on running the most aggressive scan with PT 2009, it failed to detect some 429 registry errors relating to the Ageia software removal. The attachment shows the errors found by a competitive x64 fully compatible registry cleaner. Looks to me like PT 2009 is missing a lot of errors when it scans...at least on x64.

I think I'm seeing the same thing on Windows XP Pro SP3. I ran two other "registry cleaner" programs and they both detected over 400 "Invalid Files and Destination Folders." jv16 PT2009 1.9.0.580 didn't detect any of these.

As posted in another thread, I spot checked a number of these errors and the "C:\ path" for the file or folder indeed does not exist (probably the file or folder was deleted long ago).

As was suggested in that thread, I did submit a "bug report" but have not received a confirmation it was received, logged, accepted, etc., so I can't give you a status of that report. I don't think the "bug tracker" status had changed since late in May.

I originally thought I had missed an option or setting that was causing the Registry Cleaner to ignore this type of error.

It appears that its probably safe (in my case) to delete all these Registry Keys - but I'd rather they show up in the Registry Cleaner results and let PT "fix/delete" them so they could be backed up first.

Did a similar check with Vista x64 sp2, PT 2009 and another reg cleaner. PT 2009 missed 665 reg errors that the other soft found....

Just curious - are they the same type of errors - What probably should have been detected in the "Invalid Files and Folders" or "Invalid File or Directory Reference" category?

When I checked the Registry Key reference (C:\ Path......file or folder), each error was correct, the file or directory no longer existed.

I think these should be detectable by PT Reg Cleaner and thought I was just missing a program option.

I submitted a "bug report" almost a month ago and have not gotten a reply that it was even logged or accepted (but my report was not for 64 bit, just plain old Windows XP, 32 bit).

I'll analyze the issue when I get back to the office. There is also a queue of bug reports waiting to be analyzed, so I will handle those too then.

These definitely look like they should be detected as "Invalid Files or Folders" since, for each one, the file or folder no longer exists when the path is checked.

This happens on Win XP 32 bit, as well.
