I've been reading with interest the threads on PT Lite.

I consider myself an advanced noob, I know just enough to get into trouble. :

I first tried Power Tools and it seemed way over my head, for advanced users who know what they are doing. I then went to RegSupreme and RegSupremePro and was very happy with them, but since they are not supported, have migrated to PT Lite. So far, so good. PT Lite is just that, a lite version of Power Tools.

With the lite version, yes, you do have to think a bit, but you can always get things back to the way it was by restoring the back up. It is kind of by trial and error though. I don't think there is any program that is idiot proof. Ccleaner is close, but not as effective, IMO.

I still keep Ccleaner on board because it has support for Opera and a few other features.

I would like to see a registry compactor and a start up program manager for PT Lite as additional features in the future, but I doubt this will happen as this is not a "money' program. It works pretty good as is though. Remove programs would be nice too, but I know this is asking waay too much. :)

Bottom line: PT Lite in a nice little program, good work.

Lite is an excellent example of significant power safely and conveniently 'masked' by a user-friendly interface. There is substantial technology behind that simple screen, the best technology in the business if you want a smoother running, more stable machine.

Pass your thoughts and kind words to others!

Thanks.

Very nice to read all this

Well, the release of PTLite was already some time ago (May, 14th) and I haven't seen here many users complaining, though hundreds (thousands?) of them must have downloaded, installed and run the program.

Maybe Boofo's forecasts below might be wrong :
