Jv16 PT2009 Freezes on Reg Scan

I have recently purchased JV16 PT2009 (build 1.9.0.552) and for the past few months has run fine.

I decided to do a scan today and it frooze after doing the main scan on the ''Performing Final Analysis this might take a few minutes..etc'' so i left it a while with the little circle progress icon spinning, but after getting around halfway the bar didnt progress, I decided to try a restart of the program.. same thing.

so i uninstalled JV16 re-booted, re-installed re-booted and ran it again, same problem.

Has anyone any ideas on how to 'unstick' it ??

I had that very same thing happen on an earlier version of Powertools on XP Pro SP3 and never did figure out exactly what caused it. I ended up deleting some programs on my system that I had hardly used and apparently something I got rid of must have been causing the problem because it starting working right after that.

Unfortunately on this computer i run a really tight ship..as it were. Only programs that i actually need are installed, and have been the same for a while now, i downloaded a copy of tune-up utilities 2009 and that scanned fine .. fnding many entries that jv16 had missed from a few months ago (though TUU2009 may be a little more aggresive.. and as a result more prone to removing something important).

I then re-installed jv162009 and tried again, sadly the same results, without uninstalling my programs one by one i dont think there is much i can do, i will stick with TUU2009 for now.

TuneUp Utilities is too bloated for me. And the stuff that runs in the background is useless, too. Hang in there. Maybe the next version of PowerTools will have the magic fix for you. :
