Private test build 569 released (and now finally 580)

I just retested and got the same results as you. I didn't notice the Search not showing anything the first time I tested. My bad.

From what I have tested with B577 on Vista SP2 RTM x64 and on XP-SP3 x86, I think it is time to officially publish/print/release.

What registry key in XP is it looking at for this list? There's several "Open With" and "Openwithlist" keys in the Vista registry?

But those should work on XP Pro XP3, shouldn't they? That needs to be fixed before any release.

File tools-File tool-file-add files..nothing happens, no dialog.

add files from a directory.. you get this popup, then with number 2 then the browse dialog and then 3 and 4.

I got the same errors with "File Tools" I just clicked ok until it went away. Then I tried again and was able to add files. If I use "File Tools" to search for anything it won't show any results on Vista 64. I've been trying to use JV to find empty directories for a while now, but I've never had it work on Vista 64 yet :( .

If you think this problem and also the "Export as .reg file" are Windows bugs, why not contact Microsoft Tech Support. Surely they will assist a program developer. :)

No, I think the programer should fix that issue (if has the time) before releasing the next update, because he will be out of office quite some time shortly.

Maybe it's not that difficult, because in previous versions those features worked as far as I remember (I mean for Win XP naturally).

Thank you. I think he should take the time and fix it and be done with it. It would be different if this problem had just cropped up but it has been around for a while and needs to be dealt with. Too many items on the back burner will cause the soup to spoil, so to speak.

Not confirmed on my two XP-prof SP3 systems, no empty tabs for Registry Manager.

(I uninstalled the previous version before installing v577)

"Open with" and "Search" menu tabs are both empty on my XP Pro SP3 PC, but I didn't give them much time. I also tried with PT2008; it filled the tabs in a few seconds.

I'lll try again with 577 later ...

... I gave each of those two tabs about 4 to 5 minutes. They remained empty.

I am sorry for the confusion I probably caused, but indeed: the "Open with" and "Search menu" are the two tags that stay empty, even after a few minutes wait, on my two XP-Prof-SP3 machines.

Question for the developer:

When the file type in File Analyzer is "unknown" that word is always shown even in other languages than English, in other words it's not translated. Is this by design or is it an issue?
