As reported on B555, my brother's XP-SP3 Home Edition system still is getting the error shown below when running a Registry Clean.

@ jv16

The Registry Cleaner structured list started out as a quite different beast than other PowerTools list windows. During the betas, I believe you said or implied that was due to outsourcing.

Through various changes made to date, it's still quite different (innovative actually), but much friendlier to user manipulation than it was at first.

There is still the above issue about the ease of viewing the "Error description" column. Once that is improved, the list will be almost as easy to manipulate as the other PowerTools list windows. However, the feature that expands a column with a double click at the column margin is not present.

Is it possible that feature will be implemented for the structured list sometime soon?

When using the test version of the program I noticed that not cleaned until the end of history. I am thinking of cleaning feature story below sending discharges that were more clearly. The problem concerns "Privacy Tools - History Cleaner"! The board may fix this problem somehow.

  • 1. Registry Cleaner, structured format -- the automatically expand and select options implemented in PTLite rc1b are not present in PT2009 v.1.9.0.569.

The feature will be added to jv16 PowerTools in the next major update, not yet, I'm afraid.

2. Registry Cleaner, structured format -- some items show incorrect (incomplete) information in detail lines and in the caption area, but Open in RegEdit points to the correct registry item. In PTLite rc1b, the caption area (but not the detail lines) shows the correct information for the same items.

Did you report this issue earlier as well? Could you please give me a link to your earlier report.

3. Registry Cleaner, structured format -- when an entry name contains C:\hyberfil.sys or C:\pagefile.sys, the path is red in the caption area.

Could you please send me a .reg to help me to re-produce the issue?

4. Registry Manager -- with XP, the last two tabs still show nothing.

I believe this issue is now fixed.

5. Registry Cleaner -- a certain ignore word (jv16) does not ignore some items.

Could you please send me a .reg to help me to re-produce the issue?

6. Backup Tool, Custom Restore -- the program does not remember column changes made in a prior PT session.

This bug should now be fixed, thank you for reporting!

Yes, several times. Yes; here's one of the posts: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=19092#p19092

In continuance to my previous, it seems choosing raw list instead of structured list allows registry cleaner to finish its run, restarting JV then changing to structured list, freeze is back again.

Seems the freeze in registry cleaner is back, analysis goes on to a freeze, this issue was doesn't exists with build 555.

Tried disabling deep analysis which solved this issue in previous builds, but now it doesn't help.

Hello Jouni,

I found the following, tiny, anomalies by verifying my translation:

  • 1) Trial ended message: "You Trial Has Ended ..." instead of "Your..."

    2) When switching from the language PT was started, to another one (English, French or Dutch), the Tool names in Tools menu don't switch to the new language,

but stay in the language PT was started.

    3) The header in the Settings-window "jv16 powerTools 2009 - Settings" stays in English, when changing the language.

Best regards from Jean-Paul

Trail? Or Trial? Should be Trial.

It's rather quiet on the jv16 PowerTools 2009 development front :|

The calm before the storm? :

Didn't Jouni say in a recent message that he'd be out for a couple weeks in May?

Probably just taking a much-needed break from all of us yahoos. ;)

I will be out of the office for a while starting from the end of May, so I do not wish to rush out any release before that.

Just ran build 569 and all looked good. Found 780 errors--- used the fix command but no action was done. Does this version actually do the fix command??
