Please don't forget to fix this issue also...

Already fixed, you can get the fixed version by downloading the file again.

Interrupted execution

This is not a new issue, but I don't remember any prior reports. I better report it so it can be fixed sometime …

When more than one jv16PT.exe process runs at the same time (*), the first one started abruptly terminates when when one started after it ends normally. This happens every time.

(*) For example, any combination of command line tasks, automated tasks, and the main window.

(1). I have a 22' Widescreen monitor, & the Registry Cleaner results take up the entire screen.

So I cant make it any bigger.

(2). It is also truncated in the top panel.

(3). You can Not scroll it.

So Please refer to my previous comments, & to Tullik's too......

And then Please fix this issue....

Regards,

Roberta

I also use a 22 inch widescreen monitor and I just maximize the screen when i want to investigate things. I have the tabs set up for being maximized. Not a true fix but it will work until one can be found.

Registry Manager now populates the "Open with menu" and "Search menu" tabs on an XP system.

The Shell Extensions is the one that seems to take a long time on XP Pro SP3. But It does eventually show the list. The other 2 are showing fine now. Good work, Jouni! ;)

As far as I'm concerned, wrap it, put a bow on it, and ship it. :

You can always scroll the top panel's text fields. Simply select the text and move your mouse cursor and it scrolls, just like with Outlook Express for example.

Unfortunately they still get truncated (cut off) in the top panel in my 19", 22", & even in the 24" monitors (cut off fields are: Current Registry Entry & Current File Reference)

This is a Significant usability issue.....

JV16 Please fix it.

Or at least indicate that You plan to fix this problem.

Is this under 32 bit or 64 bit Windows?

Here is the suggested next version of jv16 PowerTools to be released on Monday:

http://www.macecraft.com/downloads/betas/jv16pt_setup_580.exe

With the following Change Log:

Improved the Debug Log system to show more information about the product.

Improved the internal safety mechanisms of the product to make sure problems like the invalid backup creation of the build 550 will not ever occur again.

Fixed a bug that caused PowerTools to sometimes get stuck on an eternal window refresh loop.

Fixed a bug that caused Registry Compactor not to be 100% compatible with 64 bit versions of Vista or XP, it now is. If you have used the feature in these systems, there is no need to worry, nothing went wrong, you only might have not compacted all the possible registry storage files.

Improved the compatibility of the product and 64 bit versions of Windows. The program can now be fully used under 64 bit OS. Only remaining problem is that under 64 bit OS the Directory Selection used in many tools does not work properly.

Added more options to Registry Cleaner's Advanced Options tab.

Improved the way the Registry Cleaner shows information when removing data and scanning.

Fixed a bug that caused the program sometimes not to display the list of available translations in the Quick Tutorial.

Fixed a cosmetic bug that caused the Tools menu of the main window not to be updated if user changed the program's language.

Improved the quality of the error fixing features of the Registry Cleaner, this means that the program is now able to more accurate find errors and fixes for them, and not only delete the invalid data.

Fixed a bug that caused the Registry Manager to show empty Open With Menu and Search Menu lists under Windows XP.

Fixed a bug that caused SafetyNetV2 error(s) to be shown during a registry scan.

Improved the way the program uses Windows Task Bar, now all the main program windows are listed in Windows Task Bar to allow individual windows to be minimized and restored easily.

Changes to the previous test version include: Tooltip feature added to the Registry Cleaner's results, if the error description is too long to see, you should be able to see it from the top panel by holding your mouse cursor over the description for a few seconds. Other improvement is that in last version all PT's windows were given a place in the task bar, now only windows that can actually be minimized are given their individual task bar items. Also the Registry Cleaner's list component was updated, this update should fix some rare hang/crash problems relating to the list.
