Private test build 1.9.0.553 (and now 555)

Here is a private test build 1.9.0.553:

This test build attempts to fix the following issues:

1. Compatibility issues between PowerTools and 64 bit Windows

2. Program hanging to screen refresh/flicker loop under some system.

Please only download this version for testing purposes, the official new version will be released later in this month. This version is not yet ready for prime time.

1.9.0.553 still having problems with hanging and flickering on startup. However, debug log appears to be much smaller than previous logs. Previously, debug logs are huge (3MB in size) - now it's in the Kbs.

Debug log received, thank you very much! One new improvement of the new version is some improved filtering of the Debug Log which results in less duplicate data being added and thus smaller file size.

My understanding of the problem is the following: Program's main window is visible and a Message Window is visible below it, they seem to be flickering like the focus is being switched between the two windows very rapidly. Am I correct? Can you close the Message Window, or move the Main Window? Does this end the flickering loop?

The x64 Registry Compactor appears to be working fine now. I cross checked compaction with two other x64 registry compactors...both of which stated that the registry was fully compacted. System reboot occurred as specified.

The x64 Startup Manager is working okay now.

- I removed one startup item from each RUN section. The backup and restore worked correctly.

- I disabled one startup item from each RUN section. The Disable and subsequent Enable worked correctly.

The settings of Full Row Select/Unselect does not work in the Startup Manager.

With great interest I installed the new version. But there is no progress, the program flickers and hangs as before in QSA and registry scan when you minimize the window.

The settings of Full Row Select/Unselect does not work correctly in the Registry Cleaner. Once a row is unselected, it cannot be reselected...very erratic operation of this feature.

Try running your mouse over the left and right arrows and that seems to cause the flicker, too.

On x64 structured aggressive scan, I get hundreds of SafetyNet errors like the ones shown below when I "Fix" the detected keys per the attachment.

On XP-SP3 32bit, the Registry Cleaner issues an internal error when Fix is selected. Debug logs attached.

Yes jv16. It's exactly as you described. Both program's main window and message window are visible. Flickering appears like the the focus is being switched between the 2 window rapidly. I can't close any of the windows. I had to end the program using task manager.

I'm getting errors like those (Not the same keys) with XP Pro SP3 32-bit.

You are correct, this is now fixed. Thanks for reporting! I'll release a new private test build later today for you to check.

By pure luck I was able to witness this problem myself but while using the Registry Cleaner (I was working on the Full Row Select/Unselect issue), and I was able to debug it while the problem occurred. I hope the problem is now fixed. I'll release an updated private test build later today so you can verify.

Full Row Select/Unselect does not work in the Registry Compactor or the Service Manager. I should have checked this in B 553...sorry.
