I used Disk Wiper and then File Recovery. Disk Wiper ran for 1/2 a day so I was very disappointed to see thet there were still hundreds of recoverable files whern I ran "File Recovery".
Is there something wrong with Disk Wiper? Does Disk Wiper clean the slack space?
With what settings did you run the Disk Wiper with? And by "recoverable" do you mean you were able to recover these files and their contents was intact?
I used the wipe free space setting. I didn't try to recover any files but a significant number were rated as 100% recoverable. I didn't change the setting for file wiping, 1 x with 1's and 0's and 2x with random data.
The File Recovery's 100% recoverable rate means that the file can be recovered as it was when it was deleted. However, in the case of wiping a file this means that you will be able to recover a file that has been overwritten with random data, therefore the original file's contents cannot be recovered.
