Before I install the 2009 version must I first uninstall my 2008 version?

No. You may install 2009 over 2008. But you may want to do as I did and maintain both installations - install 2009 in a separate folder.

What would be the benefits of having both versions?

It's purely a judgment call - 2009 is new, still a few bugs (but nothing serious) - I keep 2008 around as a fall-back in case 2009 hiccups. I'm using 2009 exclusively, though - it is Jouni's best product yet. You would be very safe replacing 2008 with 2009.

I guess I'm a pack rat...I still have PT2007 and Jouni's original RegCleaner installed!

Seems like a good reason to keep both versions, although my PC can be a bit slow sometimes and I am wondering if having 2 versions installed will slow my PC down further. I suppose there is no harm in trying them both out.

THANKS

PT has no adverse affect on the normal 'running' speed of your computer - it doesn't install any services or leave anything running in the background. When you exit the program, it shuts down completely and cleanly. Leave both programs installed.

Of course, the purpose of the program is to optimize your PC, so after you run a few of the utilities, you will find your computer running smoother and more quickly. I have a 7 year old AMD-powered desktop that, literally, runs more quickly and dependably than the day I got it, primarily because of Power Tools. I've tried almost all of these kinds of utilities and NOTHING is better than PT!

Have fun!
