Failed To Gain Read Write and Access To The System Registry

I downloaded and installed version 1.9.0.540 and now PowerTools 2009 cannot access the registry. I searched this forum for a fix and tried the advanced option by right clicking the desktop icon and checking the box "Run as Administrator". After rebooting, I am still getting the same message. I am running the Vista Business 64 bit operating system. Is their a fix for this that I am not aware of? Thank you.

That's a known problem with v.1.9.0.540.

That thread also provides a reference to download a test version. AFAIK, the test version fixes this particular issue (I only have x86 PC's).

Personally, I recommend that you not use jv16 on x64 Vista or XP until such time as it becomes fully compatible with x64 systems...especially if you are not an experienced computer user. PT 2009 build 531 will "partially" work; however, the possibility of registry mistakes is pretty high even with that build.

jv16 (Jouni) is working on a new build (yet to be released for testing) that is supposed to make PT 2009 x64 fully compatible. It is supposed to be released for testing very soon and will not be released as an official build release until testing is completed.
