Custom Uninstall -- Intel Indeo?

The Software Uninstaller has this line: Author=Intel, Software=Indeo

The Custom Uninstall search results indicated up to three potential issues with this codec:

1. It showed a key=HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Picview.exe\Indeo, but there is no such key. This happened at least once; it did not show in a every rescan.

2. It picked up some unrelated …\ADOX.Index items, probably because indeo and index are an 80% match; this happened in every rescan.

3. Sometimes, the scan took too long; after an Abort or Close and rescan, it finished relatively quickly.

The Software Uninstaller has this line: Author=MainConcept, Software=DirectShow

The Custom Uninstall search results listed nearly 400 items, mostly Classes that are codec related (for example, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\DirectShow\MediaObjects\...). Most had no relation to "MainConcept" although it too seems to be a video codec.

"DirectShow" is too "generic."

Agreed, and DirectShow (and a bunch of other "Direct" strings) added to the ignore list, thanks for letting me know! This problem will be fixed in the next released version.

Very interesting problem, and it's now fixed, thank you for reporting!

The Software Uninstaller also had these lines:

Author=Registration, Software=User

Author=Registration, Software=Machine

They produced some unfortunate search matches, especially Machine.

The items causing the lines are not really software at all. They appear to have resulted from the registration process for some older Broderbund programs.

User and Machine, and perhaps Registration, are good candidates for that ignore list.

In v.1.9.0.540, this issue is fixed for the most part. This part still occurs:
