It only runs normal with UAC disabled. This is very strange. Install and reinstall doesn't do the trick either. And have uninstalled, deleted all java files manually nothing helps!

That's how I normally run, and yes, everything works. Everything also works when I enable UAC, so I'm a bit confused.

I haven't problems either, UAC disabled or not...

Hello!

Your are lucky because this is an issue! I only hopes we can solve this. I am an old fox have used jv16 since the first free release, haven't been on the forum before because i haven't had any big issues with the program. But this issue exits, not all but i am not alone with this problem. It happend with the first release the day the product started selling, i reported to macecraft emmidiately. After half a day a new version was released with out notice what was the changelog of this version?

Hello!

I have my self recreated this problem on 4 different 32 bit vista ultimate service pack 1. Whit the first release the first day.

Sorry, we encountered an error while displaying this content. If you're a user, please try again later. If you're an administrator, take a look in your Flarum log files for more information.

Since airborne mentioned he is running Vista ultimate, and i do the same, i am wondering if this may be an isolated Ultimate issue...

Hello!

Not only Ultimate in that case did the same installation on 1 Vista business edition the same thing happend!

Kind regards

I just did a test under Home Premium and it was fine, so it is some feature common to Ultimate and Business.

Hello!

Have got JAVA to work with UAC . Turn UAC on computer reboot. Uninstall old Java version.Reboot again. Run JV16 as administrator. Disable under messaging advanced information. Run jv16 power tools in normal registry policy mode.Type Java in the ignore word field. Install Java 6 update 12. Run the regcleaner again. Then it worked . I hope this information can help somebody else.

If anybody else fixes their Java this way please post a replay!

Kind regards

I doubt its a particular system since the system i tested Home Premium on is the same as my Ultimate one, i will test Business tomorrow.

p,s, I always tested with latest update 12 of Java, and this issue is impacting all IE addons, Java, flash, download manager...

Well, I meant some "individual" systems/PC's or "some systems/PC's" if you want, thus not "ALL systems/PC's"...

I think i might have isolated it...

As long as you install and always run JV as administrator your OK, change messaging options, run the registry cleaner, no protected mode prompts.

Here are the stages:

1. Install

2. First run is done using "run as administrator"

3. Change options

4. Run registry cleaner

5. Reboot

6. Check IE - no protected mode prompts

7. Disable "run as administrator"

8. Run JV16 reg cleaner, NOT touching messaging options.

9. Reboot

10. Check IE -no prompts.

11.To verify - "run as administrator" change messaging options.

12. Reboot

13. Check IE - no prompts

14. Run as normal user -CHANGE messaging options

15. Reboot (important, symptoms wont show until next reboot)

16. Check IE - protected mode prompts!

Conclusion, changing messaging option while NOT running as administrator is the trigger for the protected mode reset.

Confirmed under Ultimate, NOT an issue under Home Premium.

Hello!

If you want to fix the UAC and the problem that Java don work i recommend the fix i have published before drob!

This worked for me with Win Vista Ultimate Sp1 32Bit. Thank you airborne!

Im happy to see that this helps other users!

Kind regards

airborne i think i had simplified your fix, BUT it does not work for others but Java.

Seems the only steps needed are really the first two runs of JV to be in administrator mode, no need for re installing Java, if the quick tutorial, and first actual run, are done as administrator, you wont get any Java protected mode props, HOWEVER, you will get the flash and other ones, still the issues are there.

Hello!

After implanted my fix on my computers every thing works perfectly. No strange UAC issues, and JAVA works perfectly.

Kind regards

You mean flash and download managers and so on as well? did you uninstall and reinstall all the addons?

Hello!

The only thing i reinstalled was JAVA. Have done my fix on all my computers and and a friends computers (All Vista Ultimate 32bit). they all work perfectly with UAC and Java now. I do help my friends with this problem and i do it as i wrote before in the fix and all computers are fixed no issues with other addons after this no more prompts for permission for Flash or other addons!
