Help/about
It will show the version number at the first start (When you do nothing) in the Statusbar at the bottom.
Hope this will help you.
Sorry BlackDex,but your answer doesn't work for me.
You say:"It will show the version number at the first start (When you do nothing) in the Statusbar at the bottom."
It has never done that for me.The program always opens with
"Installed Programs".
There is no listing of the RegSupremePro version in the Statusbar, only a shortened version display on the Titlebar,
but not the version's full info.
BTW,I'm using a registered and paid-for version of RegSupremePro.
Any suggestions?

Then right-click on the .exe file and select 'Properties'.
Then select the Tab 'Version', and it will show the correct version information.
If im correct, The RegSupreme line will get an about-box which will show the information more clearly
You're right of course.I did overlook that fact.
I use a lot of freeware programs/utilities and even the simplest ones will have an About or version button.
But frankly I did not expect one of those basic thngs to be
missing,especially in a paid version.
We"ll see what JV comes up with.
Cheers,
Pete.
The design goals of the RegSupreme products were to keep it as lightweight as possible, this ment that only the most essential features were included.
I thought that since the product wasn't most likely going to be very often updated, there wouldn't be a need for any about window. And such window would eat some amount of memory and increase the file size of the program.
That is why there wasn't an about window.
All of our products have a multi-lingual user interface, something which is very highly appreciated by our vast number of non-English customers. This is great thing for them, but for us it means we can't just change the user interface e.g. to add new features.
Every time the user interface is changed also the translation interface must be changed, this means we must send our translators the translation files to update and that is a rather large task and it takes a long time. This is why we avoid doing many small updates rapidly, but rather release larger updates in less frequent basis (like the jv16 PowerTools 1.5.0 -> 1.5.1 update a while back).
In other words, the Help > About feature is coming to the product in the future, most likely with also some other new features (such as search). These updated version will most likely be called RegSupreme 2.0 and RegSupreme Pro 2.0 and I would expect them to be free for the current license owners. We don't, at this point, have any plans for any upgrades for the product (i.e. updates for which the old customers would have to pay something extra).
I hope this clears our point of view.
Yes it certainly does. Thanks very much for your very detailed
reply.Your point is well taken about making changes when several languages have to be taken in consideration.
Not being a coder/developer, I didn't think that a simple
popup window, listing only the essentials like:
RegSupremePro v x.x.x and a hyperlink on "MaceCraft" would
take that much memory.
"About" could also be "Info" which is understood in many
languages.
Anyway, thanks very much again. You may consider this topic
closed.
Cheers,
Pete.
PS.Talking about memory, far more important to me is my other
post at
being - Resource hungry?
Just wondered if you please could have a look at that.
Thanks.
