(If the link doesn't work it means the testing for this version has already ended)

Warning:

Do not install this beta version over any existing version but to a new directory. Also, do not uninstall any previous versions of jv16 PowerTools before the installation of this version - this version is a beta version. Beta version means the new product version is not yet finished and is only released for testing purposes in order to find the last remaining problems.

Main changes since RC1

* Fixed many bugs from the new Scan Report, most minor

* Fixed a bug that could have caused duplicate items to be listed in the Registry Cleaner (nothing serious)

* Fixed a minor GUI problem from the main window, the caption of the "Registry Health" indicator wasn't draw to the screen properly

* Included the updated Handbook to the distribution

* Fixed a bug from the Settings tool that caused the font of the Settings tool sometimes to change even when the user didn't change the font.

Release notes:

* Some changes were had to be made to the English.lng, so all translators must update their translations. Sorry!

* You might get an EInvalidPointerOperation error message when closing the program, this is normal and nothing serious.

As always, all beta testers who give us valuable feedback such as good quality bug reports or other feedback will be given a free personal license for the product when then final product version is released. To be clear, simply downloading the beta version and saying "it works fine" or "it doesn't work" doesn't entitle for a free license.

When I installed the RC2 it says my trail has ended. Hope a fix for this comes soon

In the software uninstaller i have an entry for the office 2007 home and student trial. I have tried to remove it but it is still in the list. I had removed the trial by uninstalling it but this entry will not go away. Even custom uninstall does nothing.

Vista SP1 64bit. The registry compactor is still not displaying properly. Attached are the debug logs.

Also, multiple error messages with closing PT 2009 RC2

jv16,

No comment about my last post on RC1 ??

Also, should we be able to attach files to a PM to you? I don't see any way to do it.

On Vista SP1 64-bit. The Startup Manager is still not displaying all startup items. Attached are the debug logs.

Vista SP1 64bit. Under Privacy Tools>System Cleaner>Delete Files>Change Settings, the disk selected is not staying selected between uses. By that I mean that if I select the C drive, run Delete Files, close PT 2009 and reopen it, the disk is no longer selected. The debug logs are attached.

The issues reported in the following two posts are not fixed.

- 1st post,

- 2nd post.

When starting jv16 PowerTools in Dutch I still have the Error Severity column in numbers/digits, also when changing from English to Dutch in the same session.

When starting the program in English mostly the Error Severity is shown in red indicators/bars.

Registry Cleaner - Structured list - All items selected - Fix

When choosing "Fix" not all items are processed > some listed items are left > I have to click "Fix" again for those remaining items being processed.

After the first process no message window appears telling me how many entries could be fixed and how many couldn't and had to be deleted.

Only after the second process (of the remaining items) that message window appears but only with the results of that second process.

On the other hand backups of all the processed items are made.

Message window - Blue error link - double clicking

Nothing happens...

I suppose double clicking on such a link should move the focus to the tab/place where the desired action must/can be done, or am I wrong dear developer?

Within the program on my computer, nothing happens :

Filter Tool (CTRL + ALT + F)

The Filter Tool parts are NOT translated, i.e.

  • - "Show"

    - "Matching items"

    - "NOT matching items"

That should be fixed. As far as I know those strings are NOT in the English.lng file :

By the way, dear developer, thank you for maintaining the tool and making it visible again :

This can be confirmed also for Windows XP/SP3
