jv16 redseujac wroteSome icons in System Cleaner are not wel designed. They are not meaningful enough, because they don't indicate clearly their purpose: e.g. delete files, flush or empty directories. Besides, the icons for empty/flush directories are identical though they have not and identical purpose. You are correct that some icons do not clearly indicate their purpose but sometimes it's just too difficult to do with the icon, that's why there is also the text caption. I'm afraid there is not enough time to get these three icons re-designed for the final product.
jv16 redseujac wroterdtmk5 wroteRC1b interface issues: * File Finder - Search by attributes menu: Under 'Look only for files with...', the 1st and 3rd items are the same - Read only attribute. I suspect the 3rd item should be System file attribute. . That's correct! I also had noticed that issue. It's due to an error in the English language file, where both "Read only attribute" and "System file attribute" have the same number. There are still other text strings with the same number. Is this by design? The case of duplicate numbers is always a bug! The number codes should always be identical inside the same section (but not globally). All these issues are now fixed, thank you for reporting!
jv16 redseujac wroteOverview of translation issues in PT2009 RC1b - Main Window: - "Licensed to": English.lng > - 17 (text translated in Dutch.lng yet!) This is by design. For safety reasons some key strings related to the trial / registered status of the product are not available for translation, mainly the trial time notice and "Licensed to". - Language: - "This translation can be used for testing purposes to verify that all shown texts can be translated": message when clicking X_English. That text is NOT present in the English.lng file The text can be freely modified by translators to have some message shown to the user when the translation is selected, there simply isn't any such message in English.lng. All the translation problems detected and kindly reported are now fixed, thanks!
jv16 redseujac wroteFile Recovery: title (caption) NOT TRANSLATED Unfortunately I found another translation problem. In File Recovery the title (caption) is not translated and cannot be translated because the X_ is missing. This problem is also now fixed, thank you for reporting!
jv16 redseujac wrotetullik wrote No "to" with "let" and "help" . . . It's better English to omit the red text: 1=These tools let you to optimize and clean your Windows registry. 2=These tools let you to find and organize files, and also locate and clear unwanted files. 3=These tools help you to make your system run better. 4=These tools let you to improve your privacy by clearing privacy threatening data from your computer. That's correct Tullik, those sentences must be changed the way you suggest! I agree, these changes are now made. Thank you for reporting!

When not using the Search words tab, several errors containing that string show on the results list. Can someone else reproduce the problem? Problem not confirmed here. I did a test with the Search words "XCell Compiler", later "Ashmanov" and last "vso" and the Registry Cleaner found each time exclusively the erroneous registry items referring to those search words. ------------------ Edit: I did a new test with several Search words together now: - Ashmanov - XCell Compiler - Your Uninstaller! - vso - WinRescue Vista - WinRAR Still no problem: the Registry Cleaner found all (and nothing else than) the erroneous entries referring to those search words...
jv16 tullik wrote Registry Cleaner - Remove lines from list bug In the structured list, when you remove some entries from the list, then do a select all and delete, the program also removes the registry entries for the items no longer on the list. This bug should now be fixed, thank you for reporting!
jv16 tullik wrotejv16 wrotetullik wroteIt could hardly be more confusing than what it currently does using the "standard" settings. Namely: I guess you are referring to the fact that the quick system analysis and the Registry Cleaner's scan report show very different scores for registry health? This is a bug in RC1 and is now fixed. Yes. And most of the "does not exist" type errors are overweighted. All those I see as described below have zero risk. I realize it's not desirable to add code for all kinds of exceptions. But "Desktop" and "userassist" are very common in windows. You are correct, this problem is now fixed. Thank you for reporting!
redseujac Backup Tool > Custom restore There I have found another translation issue... The following texts are NOT translated and they can't be translated: the X_ is missing when running X_English: - Registry entries - Files - Header file

jv16 redseujac wroteWhat's the exact purpose/meaning of those Pie Charts in the Registry Cleaner Scan Report? More particulary: "Found Errors" and "Distribution by Root". All parts of those Pie Charts are equal (see attachments). Is this by design? If this is by design, then what's the benefit/usefulness of those Pie Charts? The purpose of the pie charts is to show the results of the scan in a nice graphical form. Although the charts look cool, they are still very lightweight and do not add much to the program's memory usage or file size. The reason why the charts are equal in your system is simply because in your system the registry errors are quite equal in type and distribution.

tullik Registry Cleaner, Search words There is this minor message issue: When you use multiple search words, and some have matches, but others do not, you get this message: 01-22-2009_13-49-40.jpg That message implies nothing was found.
