Item 4 in that post, Run the Registry Cleaner …, runs as it should in PT2009 beta2. Perhaps the issue was fixed in a subsequent version of PT2008. In spite of the warning, the task creates a backup with a name generated by the program. Doing the backup is actually a good thing. I hope that is left as is.

Item 6 in that post, Clear all History/MRU items with the History Cleaner, is still an issue as described in that post. Specifically, the task doesn't clear anything.

When you try to configure "Settings" the check boxes "Automatically check for the availability of Live Support" and "Automatically check for program updates" can't be seen. Resizing the window fixes it.

List Filter - bug with "hidden" part of list

This issue still exists in PT2009 beta2.

However, since it is a hidden feature and easy to workaround, it's probably not worth fixing any time soon.

Besides, the List Filter feature is not documented anywhere except in a jv16 post somewhere in the PT2008 Forum. :

I have noticed many users struggle with the same problem: the health gauges keep indicating the same (previous) scores, though the user has run a Registry Cleaning and the registry is as clean as possible, i.e. no more (= 0) erroneous entries shown.

What they don't know (or loose track of) is that those health gauges not always indicate the actual status of the PC and registry, because they only indicate (and keep indicating) the scores just after running a single quick system analysis (or rebuilding of the file caches).

So, to force the program indicating the actual (new) scores after e.g. a registry or file cleaning, you should always run a new quick system analysis or let the program rebuild the file caches (e.g. after flushing them).

Suggestion: create a message like this: "The health gauges show/indicate the scores after each new run of the quick system analysis or rebuilding of the file caches and thus not always the actual status of the PC and the Registry."

This GUI bug has now been fixed, thank you for reporting! The Beta3 will contain the fix.

Very good idea, thank you! This message will be displayed in next versions of the product, the message will be shown when the product is launched for the second time after the quick system analysis update.

Just completed converting from Vista SP1 Business 32bit to 64bit.

The Registry Compactor is not showing all the hives for 64bit. The same problem existings in PT 2008.

The progress bar is misleading when taking a registry snapshot.

At first I thought PT 2009 had hung as the progress bar reached the end but the final screen only showed 90 seconds after this.

System Optimizer -- backup bugs? (on Vista BE, not SP1)

I applied these tweaks and restarted: 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, and 2-4. I did 1-1 alone, then later did the other five all at the same time.

There was no 1-1 subfolder in …\Backups\_SystemOptimizer.

In the other five subfolders, the values in the Entries.reg files equaled the values in the registry. How could this be right?

System Optimizer -- a "remembering" bug? (on Vista BE, not SP1)

I unchecked the six tweaks mentioned earlier (1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, and 2-4), then clicked the Apply button, and exited PT2009. When I immediately again start PT2009 and the System Optimizer tool, the six tweaks are still checked.

Added note: after additional testing, I came to realize the program is setting the check marks from the registry settings, not from any PT file.
