I am a newbie. I once did a registry cleanup and got all messed up. So I want to be very careful this time around. I have a Windows 98 SE system and am preparing to migrate to a new computer. But the system has been giving me a lot of trouble the last few weeks, and I want to clean it up so migration is clean.
The jv16 Power Tools guide has a specific section on Backups and provides for automatically backing up if any changes are made to the Registry. The RegSupreme Pro guide does not have such a section. Does it also backup or does it not? And is this backing up only a necessary precaution for manual changes?
Furthermore, I saw in the Forum in the 14 OCT posting "Issues with RegSupreme Pro v 1.8.0.472 the following issues:
1. Reg Cleaner GUI issues in raw list format
2. Automation Tool Empty directories: action creates no backup
Will either of these cause me troubles if I download RegSupremePro?
I looked at the Forum for jv 16 2008 power tools. It seems to have a lot of bugs too. What would you recommend I use to have the most trouble-free Registry Cleaning?
