Hi jv16,

There is a non-working tip placed in the File Organizer window.

The tip says: "You can also drag and drop files to this window."

I have tried dragging multiple files of various types into the File Organizer window (within the input box and the area around it) but it doesn't catch it and behaves as if nothing has happened.

I am running Windows Vista and do not have Vista SP1.

Can you replicate this bug or is it an isolated incidence? If it is an isolated incidence, has there been any solutions?

Thanks!

I did the test and the drag and drop method did work for me in File Organizer Source files window (I tested with jpg, mp3, etc.).

Ah, ok. Maybe it was fixed in the latest update. I just realized I was running an older version. Time to update :)

Will update the thread as to whether or not it helped.

I did the test with the newest version of jv16 PowerTools 2008: 1.8.0.472.

It has been a while, but I recall that, with pre-SP1 Vista, drag and drop to a desktop folder (or window) did not work until I turned off User Access Control.

I don't know if Microsoft has fixed this problem.

Yep, that is correct, with UAC and Vista the drag and drop features do not work in the PowerTools. It's a known problem which I have been unable to solve.
