Quick system analysis creates an empty FileCache.dat

When you run the Quick system analysis with v.1.8.0.467, it creates an empty FileCache.dat file.

Confirmed on XP-SP3 and Vista SP1 Business...Filecache.dat is empty.

Confirmed here also :

That's a serious BUG. Running Registry Cleaner is useless. The only possibility remaining is delete the found entries...

Well, as we can see, each time a new version is released there are new BUGS (look at the not working History Cleaner also). I guess the BUG is created while trying to fix a previous BUG in Quick System Analysis.

I'm really wondering who's testing the fixes seriously in Macecraft Software crew before a new update is released :? (or do they lean on the users for testing and reporting new BUGS?).

I'm also wondering what would happen if Macecraft Software should NOT have all those devoted users testing continually the programs and reporting all those numerous issues and bugs?

It's worrying to notice that trying to fix reported BUGS new ones are created which didn't exist previously ...

We began betatesting version 2008 end January and 7 months later we still do not have a bugfree program, on the contrary new bugs do appear. I know, I know one pretends the program will always have bugs, but as to me that's rather a cheap argument :

I'm glad I can have some holidays soon and hopefully I can return awaiting a new PT2008 version without new bugs :

Hi,

mine is not empty, but the quick analysis is VERY slow, it used to run much faster before 467

Could you be a bit more specific, how fast exactly it was and how slow it is now?

Hi,

as far as I can remember, it used to take something less than 20/30 seconds.

With 468, it took yesterday let's say 3 or 4 minutes

i'm at work now, i'll try again this evening ans i'll tell you

bye

QSA with 1.8.0.468 takes about 44% more time than with 1.8.0.460 (for example).

Version 1.8.0.460, about 82 seconds:

Version 1.8.0.468, about 118 seconds:

Note: After QSA finished, I quickly forced the last time stamp with the Settings tool . . .

The 'Quick' part of Quick System Analysis has, indeed, become somewhat of a misnomer in 1.8.0.468. What used to take significantly less time (20 seconds?) now takes 60-65 seconds. A disaster? No. But what changed to cause this?

hi,

as I wrote above, the first time I ran quick analysis right after updating, it took about 3 or 4 minutes.

yersterday, I emptied the file cache, then ran the analysis again, it took about 50/60seconds

same time today, with no cleaning of the cache before operating

hope it helps
