This issue is present in Software Manager (1.8.0.467) and in the previous releases of jv16 PowerTools 2008.

Clicking the "Abort" button during the analysis, appear the message "Note: Operation aborted", but the process continues (90%-100% CPU).

Clicking the "Close" button, the window of Software Manager is closed, but the process continues (90%-100% CPU).

The Jv16PT.exe process continues also after close of jv16 PowerTools 2008: it is necessary to end it with Task Manager.

Operating system: Windows Vista Ultimate SP1.

I attach the Debug log file (after 1 minute of work of Software Manager).

I hope that will be useful to fix the issue.

I have this same issue using v. 1.8.0.472. Need to kill in task manager or close the main GUI for the analysis and 100% CPU to stop.

It is also painfully slow. The progress bar reach 60-75% within 1 min, and then just hangs there with the CPU at 100%. Tried several times, and after waiting for 4 hrs, I need to abort as the computer is too sluggish for normal use during the analysis.

Is this normal? The first time I tried it, I let it run overnight and it completed. However, after uninstalling one program, jv16 started the analysis again. I needed to uninstall more programs, but I also need to use the computer............... :?
