Wrong:

"jv16 PowerTools 2008 lists only the most common features as toolbar buttons. It would also not be possible to list all features that way, simply because their are more features then there is room for toolbar buttons. Instead, right click the items on the product's various lists to see the additional features relating to the item or items selected.

Right:

Motive: the option to right click the white area of the main window and select settings doesn't exist anymore.

"Both the comment writing as the age system work with the right-click menu."

Right:

"Both the comment writing and the age system work with the right-click menu."

Indeed, the correct English syntax is "both ... and" instead of "both ... as", which doesn't exist. In the Dutch language the second part is "as" (als) in "zowel ... als", but not in the English language. Correct is also "as well as", e.g. "The comment writing as well as the age system..."

Just have a look at the following attachments.

"The beauty of the Scan Report is the Severity of the found errors feature."

Motive:

  • - The System health indicator feature has dissapeared in the Scan report. Look at

    this post.

    - Avoid using two times the same word ("feature") in the same sentence.

I hope jv16 or Veera will fix those errors and put the adapted version on the website and include it in the next version of the PowerTools.

I myself have already adapted my Dutch translation which can be downloaded from the usual place on this forum.

Ok, Tullik, but maybe there aren't (yet) command line parameters for those new tools and options...

Command line parameters which don't work (v.1.8.0.460)

The following command line parameters bring up the main window, not the tool window:

  • -AutomationTool (Opens the Automation Tool)

    -BackupTool (Opens the Backup Tool)

-CookieManager (Opens the Cookie Manager) (*)

-DuplicateFinder (Opens the Duplicate File Finder)

-HistoryManager (Opens the History Manager) (*)

-PrivacyProtector (Opens the Privacy Protector) (*)

    -Settings (Opens the Settings window)

The rest of the command line parameters in the "Handbook" Appendix table bring up the expected window.

(*) Not a currently implemented tool …

Seven in the table no longer work. Perhaps all seven should be removed from the table …

Then actual program fixes for them would not be needed.

Interesting approach...

... but realistic. They (the four current ones) don't work in PowerTools 2007 either. They do work in PT2006 and PT2005 ...

Think of it as a challenge ...

Regarding the Handbook table on page 80 -- these parameters work (bring up the expected tool window), but are not in the table:

  • -DirFinder

    -DirTool

    -DiskWiper

    -FileOrganizer

    -OneClickCleaner (Opens System Cleaner window)

    -RegCompactor

    -RegInformation

Of the 24 tools which can be loaded with icon clicks, 18 have command line parameters which work.

The 6 which don't work (yet?) are:

  • Automation Tool

    Backup Tool

    Duplicate File Finder

    File Recovery Tool

    Settings Tool

    Software Manager

The Handbook table should reflect what is supported (or intended to be supported).

The Handbook will be updated in reference to the command line parameters with the next release of PowerTools.

I have added another error found at page 35 of the Handbook, concerning the missing "System Health Indicator" in the Scan Report of the Registry Cleaner.

(look at my first post in this thread).

Thanks for letting me know, I'll fix that as well from the next release.

OK! Don't forget I've added also another error found on page 8 of the Handbook (look here http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3309&p=15532#p15532) :

Besides the best and easiest way not to forget all the found errors and suggested fixes is to resume the list in my first post of this thread, because I have completed that list each time with the new found errors and fixes :)
