license not found

I upgraded ( which was supposed to be free) and had JV16 2008 search for the license. I got an error that said it couldn't find the license; to copy it to the desktop or my documents and try again. Copied the license.xbin to desktop and mydocuments and still get the error. What do I need to do?

I have the same problem. The license-not-found issue created a mess - caused it to freeze and go into loops. I could not close it, had to force it off. I have written to a tech support person (whose email address I happen to have) to ask for help, but no reply.

Fortunately I still had the setup file for 1.8.0.459 so I uninstalled 1.8.0.460 and reinstalled 1.8.0.459.

A real mess.

You mean that with the license file on the same location version 1.8.0.459 works fine, while 1.8.0.460 does not?

You can't e-mail tech support, you can only send a ticket or chat.

Yes, fine with 459. And it has been fine with the many updates pre 459.

460 doesn't like it. Same issue as houndhen by the sound of it.

Re my eMailing tech support, yes I know they stopped the direct contact due to spam or whatever, but over the years I have developed a few contacts in there who i communicate with direct. I just haven't heard back on this one yet for some reason.

I raised a ticket this morning.

You need to contact our Technical Support, please include your license file to your message and they can better help you.

There is virtually dozens of things what could cause the problem and solving them here is not a good idea, therefore you should contact our support directly.

Some things that can cause the problem: license file corruption, file rights problems, invalid license file (license of RegSupreme doesn't work with PowerTools) etc.
