How would you improve the Installer

Installer:

1. Make the the install folder specification box scrollable so it is easier to view a long path name.

2. Add a user dialog about the installer/uninstaller use of the registry. For example, radio button options might have these three choices for "Should the installer place its data in the registry?":
- Yes -- use of the Windows Add/Remove Programs applet will be enabled (default)
  
  No -- I will invoke the product's uninstaller manually
  
  No -- I will remove all the product's components manually (no uninstaller (unins00n.exe) will be created -- for advanced users)
  
  Note: the installer data (unins00n.dat) would always be created so an "install over" installation could pick up the user's prior choices.
3. If an "install over" is happening, offer the user the choice of renaming the target folder and updating the previously installed shortcuts (if any).

Uninstaller:

1. There should be a brief user dialog identifying the target folder path and offering with check boxes to keep subfolders:
- Backups (checked by default)
  
  Settings (checked by default)
  
  Snapshots
  
  Tasks
2. If the user unchecks all the "Keep" boxes:
- Ask "Are you sure?" (the target folder and all its contents will be deleted)
  
  If the license file is in the target folder, offer to move it to a location the user would be able to specify.

- Automatically choose the language of the system (with the possibility to choose another language).

- If possible include the translated handbooks and install the handbook of the choosen program language as default (I realize that such an option would create a large installation file and hence it's maybe not feasible).

OK, but as we wrote already, that installer is not jv16's work and he wants to build a new one (of his own) hopefully including the features we have suggested (and maybe others).

jv16 doesn't want to use simply the installer you are referring to, for the reasons he already explained in several previous posts on this forum.

The installer package at edskes and codecpack.nl is violating the rights of Macceraft Software for the reasons as mentioned in some posts elsewhere on the forum today.
