You should look at the rest of that site too.

It has freeware and commercial app's

If you add to, modify, or repackage, in any way, someone else's software that is not released under an open source license you are violating EULA's in some form or another.

I don't know what the law is in 'NL' but at least here in the UK you are breaking it.

There are even some scumbags who sell freeware from their own site. Sometimes they change the colour of the GUI.

There is a line that you do not cross, otherwise, where does it stop.

The installer from codepack.nl or edskes.net or edskes.com is not an "original distribution package." It is a repackaging with, I daresay, no permission from Macecraft.

It also does not install one file (the license agreement :) and adds an executable (jv16 PowerTools.exe).

Illegal? Probably, but that would be for some judicial system to decide if Macecraft filed an action.

A rude trespass on Macecraft's rights? No doubt at all.

And the distribution of the Dutch translation of the handbook happens without permission of the translator (= myself) too, even in spite of my ban, hence it's illegal...

The distribution is illegal because it contains a modified version of the product (not only the installer) and it is being distributed without our permission. In the past the domain has also distributed an (also illegal) full version of our products.

It's not difficult: just use the official Macecraft installation package of the Macecraft Software website...

Please, let's finish this discussion about that illegal installation package.

This website is meant to handle questions about the official jv16 PowerTools software distributed by Macecraft Software.

I don't want to waste my precious time answering questions about illegaly distributed packages of jv16 PowerTools.

Those who downloaded and installed those illegal packages should take the consequences too I guess.

I guess that's to reduce the size of the files and hence the size of the installation package?

As to the "handbook_dutch.pdf", that's my Dutch translation file of the handbook which is included without my permission and in spite of my express ban.

I'm hoping jv16 will succeed in creating his new installer soon, including the features we've suggested.

That way all that fuss about those "alternative" installers could be finished.
