Will this problem ever be fixed????.....
It will be fixed if I ever find a way to reproduce the problem. After the next version is released, could you run the product in Debug Mode and produce the problem in your computer and then send me the debug log? I could see if there is anything strange in the debug log.
In the topic "Debug log too verbose with Registry Cleaner,"

. . . The debug log is 16+ MB (down from the earlier 25+ MB last week) -- still too large to attach. . . .
. . . The debug log is almost 22 MB.
That is being between a rock and a hard place ...
I had been experiencing the symptoms described below in all of the Registry Cleaner runs. Then I did a certain edit of Windows.dat and all the symptoms went away (so far anyway). It may be a workaround when, or if, the symptoms return. I have no idea why it worked, but hope it works for you.
The edit:
- 1. Before starting PowerTools, make a copy of
C:\Program Files\jv16 PowerTools 2008\Settings\Windows.datsomewhere.
2. Use notepad to remove
and the five lines below it from C:\Program Files\jv16 PowerTools 2008\Settings\Windows.dat. 3. Start PowerTools and Registry Cleaner. The window will have reverted to the default sizing, but should be resizable.
The removed lines:
Height=616
Width=913
Left=206
Top=50
Max=False
The symptoms:
- 1. Columns would not sort (clicked column buttons depressed and stayed depressed).
2. Columns could not be drag-resized.
3. Caption area drag-select did not work.
4. The results window could not be drag-resized.
5. The results window could not be moved using the title bar.
6. Closing the message box made symptoms 1, 2, and 3 go away, but 4 and 5 persisted.
