Regsupreme icon

Hi. I've searched the forum but cannot find an answer to this problem. My desktop reg supreme icon keeps changing to as shown. I have tried uninstalling/re installing etc, tried changing the icon but nothing happens. Windows vista. Regsupreme up to date.

Thanks for your reply. Yes i have done as you have sugested, apart from tweak ui as, as far as i know does not work (install) on vista.

Yes, Microsoft did not carry Tweak UI into Vista.

Hi. I tend to totaly agree with you. Perhaps, and i think this is the best bet it was a fluke. But something hapened. :

Well it was a fluke ive lost my icon again ???

Well ??????????????? I just installed tuneup utilities 2008 and imediately my regsupreme icon come back to its origional. I have not run tuneup utilities just inslled it. Cant make this out at all.

The theory at that link is that icons sometimes don't show correctly due to corruption in the icon cache (C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\IconCache.db).

The suggested "Method One" is safe to do. Although my icons are okay, I just did this variation of "Method One" with no impact:

1. Renamed IconCache.db to IconCache.db_

2. Restarted windows

3. The reboot completed with no problems; everything on the Desktop appears to be normal

4. The new IconCache.db has a size of 3.495 KB; IconCache.db_ has a size of 3,551 KB

The procedure is likely to stabilize your Desktop icons …
