Can't launch jv16 2008

Most of the time, I can't launch jv16 2008 properly. When I click on the desktop icon, 19 times out of 20 I get an aqua-colored window, with the messages below as normal. The 20th time, it launches properly. I spoke to Veera, who had no solution, other than saying an update soon might fix it.

Can anyone help? I'm on Win XP SP2, I use Windows Live OneCare for antivirus, and I am using a ThinkPad X61.

This is the Blank Screen error discussed here: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3075&start=0 at the moment there is no fix for the problem but I'm hoping the next released build will fix the problem. The next build will be released in this week.
