How to create a registry backup ?

Hi All,

I am a newbie with JV16 Power Tools 2008 and i am very impressed with this outstanding piece of software.

I have been looking in the handbook but i can't find out how to create just a simple backup from the registry.

It looks like you can only ceate a backup of the registry after a cleaning procedure ???

Creating a snapshot on the other hand is no problem at all.

Such a feature is not (yet) available in PowerTools.

You can try a free software called "ERUNT" to do this.

Erunt is probably the fastest and (as to me) the best little tool do backup the registry.

I can not find any information on how to make a backup of the registry using the new 2008 version. Can someone help me out with this ? Here is my email: rsuchocki@comcast.net. I do not want to use the program until I can first make a backup of the registry.

That looks good. There's also a program there that compacts the registry.That's good because JV16 2008 Registry Compactor doesnt work properly for everyone.

I already wrote "ERUNT" is a free, very easy and fast way to backup fully your registry.

It provides also an easy and fast way to restore the backups.

I have a long and successful experience with "ERUNT".

As far as I'm concerned the build-in possibility from MS Windows '"regedit" is not recommended to backup and restore the registry.

It's true you can download also an excellent registry optimizer (compactor) called NTREGOP from the website of ERUNT.

Agreed! Both of these registry utilities are the best of their kind. ERUNT has saved me from disaster more than once. Highly recommended.
