Registry Finder -- incomplete abort (v 1.8.0.449)

When you abort a Registry Finder scan and close all the Registry Finder windows, a cpu intensive jv16PT.exe process keeps running.

To stop it, you must exit PowerTools (or wait; sometimes it is a long wait).

If you try to run Registry Finder again without exiting PowerTools first, you get the "tool is already running, please wait" message.

5 days later

I have found the same thing, but it did not start w/ .449. It was there in 1.8. Not sure about1.7. Only solution I've found is to go away for a while (long wait), or restart. Restart is usually faster.

If Macecraft would publish the name of the process, it could be stopped when an abort is ordered.

The name of the process is jv16PT.exe, so you might as well just Exit PowerTools if you want to stop the run-on scan right away ..
