where are the key back-ups saved ?

I was using one of the tools to find keys relating to Visual Basic Software Development Kit, which won't uninstall properly.

I thought I was having the edits backed-up automatically (in a *.reg file ?) in case I needed to rescue something.

I was prompted for names for the saves, but not for a file path.

I accidentally deleted keys to do with the VBA libraries in Microsoft Office, so Excel and WORD are having fits.

Ha ha. They don't call it a power tool for nothing, do they ?

So now I need to rescue the VBA Libraries keys from the back-ups.

Where are they ?

Use the "Backup Tool" (in Main window: File --> Backup tool).

In jv16 PowerTools 2008 there's such a special icon at the Main Window

I'm afraid the developer won't change anything in version 2007, since there's version 2008 now...

In jv16 2007, all my backups seem to be in .dat files which I have opened with notepad. Is this correct?

Do I somehow change this to a .reg extension?

When I run the backup tool , it does not list my most recent backup. Where is it? :

Normally a backup dir holds two files:

- index.dat

- entries.reg

The last one (entries.reg) contains the saved registry entries.

Don't you have those entries.reg files?

Yes, I do.

Somehow, though, I cannot find the latest backup made on 4/21!

Is there a place for the last one made? I know I backed it up.

There's no other place than: \jv16 PowerTools 2007\Backups.

Normally you should find ALL your backups there... unless you have changed the place of your backup folder in the Main Settings > Installation (but I don't think so).
