JV16 2008 (trial version) will not open

Hello friends,

I tried to take the new version for a test drive so, I uninstalled JV16 2007, removed the directory, and installed the 2008. Everything installed fine (according to on screen messages), it updated the cache, and went through all the necessary setups, created desktop shortcut, start menu item,...HOWEVER, later, when I try to open the program via the shortcut or the EXE program in the file folder, there is a short blink and NOTHING happens BUT, checking the TASK Manager, the program is clearly running. I tried to reopen the program and same thing happens and now, JV16 2008 is listed twice in task manager under "Processes."

What gives? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Until the problems are fixed you should end all processes of jv16PT.exe and then try again.

Jan, thanks for the reply however, I guess I need a bit more clarification with regards to your input. How do these problems that you mention are suppose to be fixed? Obviously, the program is running and I give it ample time to come to life or terminate but, neither one happens and I am forced to 'End process' after waiting for good amount of time. So, as you see, problems are not fixing themselves. The program is residing and running somewhere that is not accessible to me.

I tried to uninstall it and even uninstaller tells me that I must end the program before uninstalling even though, without accessing the 'Task Manager' there is NO way to say this thing is running.

Jan, thanks a lot for the reply and the information. I truly appreciate you taking time and unlike other mighty ones here NOT being selective and sensitive about which posts you want to take on and address.

I think I'll wait for PT2020 hopefully when the program is fully tested and functional prior to release.
