I have an interface suggestion. The addition of the screwdrivers on the small icons (on the left of the main window) obscures the icon and makes them pretty useless as a quick identifier so one doesn't have to actually read the text.
It would be clearer if the screwdriver was removed from these small icons and just showed what was being accessed: The blocks for the registry, the window for the files, the system for the system and the lock for privacy issues. We already know we are accessing a tool - they are ALL tools. What we NEED to know is WHAT we will be working on if we click that icon.
The tools on the larger icons are fine, but when the icons are small, the screwdriver adds an overlay of sameness to every icon (removes the uniqueness of the icon). And the whole point of an icon is its uniqueness from it's neighbors for quick identification. As it is, the same, identical screwdriver is what "jumps out at you" on every icon. What should "jump out" is the meaning of the icon that is hidden under the screwdriver.
