Hi,

Powertools 2005 has been working nicely for me with Windows XP. Windows taught me (&!!^!!%@@@\&*\$$!!!) that it's usually best not to fix anything that's not broken -- and Powertools 2005 is definitely not broken. I imagine though that there must be advantages to upgrading to 2006 or 2007. Why would the development team otherwise spend time building new versions?

(Hmmm, maybe I've lost the path already with such an innocent notion...) Still, anticipating wide approval for upgrading in a forum of 2007 users, are there recommended procedures? Any definite must-dos or no-nos? For instance, could I go directly to PT 2007? Tips and tolerance for a possibly very dumb question appreciated.

I think the easiest way to find out whether you like PT 2007 is simply to download its trial version and install it to another directory (i.e. not over PT 2005) and try it out.

If you like it, you can keep it, also, you could use both PT 2005 and PT 2007 together if you find that the best.

Thank you, jv16. Your answer makes perfect sense. I'll use the two side-by-side. (What made me think I had to give up a tool I like in order to try one I might like better? In the past I often regretted having upgraded one or another program, after the new one wiped out the old.)
