News on upcoming PT 2008

As you can probably say by just looking at the calendar, the entire Macecraft team is working on the upcoming PowerTools 2008 version.

The PT 2008 release focuses on improving the current set of features. Of the improvements I can at this point say at least that the speed of the Registry Cleaner and Registry Finder is highly optimized. We are still working on it, so I can't yet say any numbers but what I have seen so far makes me very confident that we will be able to boost the performance of these tools significantly.

In addition, there will be at least one new major feature (i.e. new tool to the Main Window). I believe this will be a big surprise for everyone. This feature is already implemented.

One of the existing tools will be fully rewritten. I can't yet say which one, but its one of the five first tools of the Main Window. This is also pretty much done already.

Also, there will be quite drastic changes to the main user interface (i.e. the Main Window).

The ETA of the first beta version is December 2007 / January 2008.

Hello jv16 and to all members. I have just bought 2007 and it has been most helpful in cleaning this box.

When the 2008 is released, will an upgrade be possible without buying it again?

Why posting your text in color (red)?

Nobody of the thousands of forum users does.

Besides if every user posted in color, the forum would become a mess!

So please post in black in the future.

PS: the only case where you can color text is when you want to emphasize a special text passage.

If there is one thing I would like to see as a new addition for 2008, it is this:

Create a tool that permits an adminstrator user of jv16 to easily remove registry keys that have to have permission elevation and ownership takeover for removal. I'm referring to such keys as those pesky _LEGACY driver keys that often will not easily delete when manually using Regedit.exe.

I am waiting with baited breath for 2008. I have had the original program you wrote when you were in school and it still works. I also have jv16 Power Tools 2007.

The new interface (from the one screen I see) is BEAUTIFUL! Thank you! Although your presentation of this product with all the screenshots and detailed explanations is the best I have seen (congrats!), I was so disappointed in the black on grey, grey, grey window boxes - that dark grey is SO depressing! I'm really looking forward to the new, cheery, beautiful interface.
