Startup Manager deletes comments

: Before I start complaining --- Excellent program!! I especailly like the ability to enter comments so that I don't have to keep researching the same thing over again. My memory is good, but short.

Now for the complaint: When I disable a program, and insert a comment explaining (to my later self) why I did it, the comments disappear upon the next boot. I can enter them again after the reboot and they will stick next time, but by that time I am mad and I misspell things in my comments. If I can remember to not make comments until the reboot, I am fine; but (like I said) my memory is short. It isn't a "major" bug, but I would suggest fixing that.

Actually, I just realized that this problem is worse than I thought originally. Since my comments may be deleted at some future date, I have been writing them into a separate document to insure that I don't have to research them again. That's what I was doing when all I had was MSCONFIG. It pretty well abolishes what I consider to be the main advantage to the Startup Manager

I don't think the comments are actually deleted. They appear to remain in the Settings file AgeCommentSys_StartupManager.dat. Unfortunately they don't display when the enabled/disabled status of an item is changed by the user. This failure to display happens when you start PT again, even without a reboot.

This is IMO a bug. Perhaps it will be fixed in PT 2008. :

Thanks! At least now I know where to find them, and I agree that it's a bug. I think it's appropriate to fix bugs in updates, and there shouldn't be a need to wait for PT 2008.
