JV 16 PT stops working

I have been using JV 16 PT for several years. I have never had any problems until now. When I run registry cleaner, the program gets to a certain point and then I notice the results of the scan as it is ongoing beging to slow down and finally stop. The program is still reunning as confirmed by task manager, but no progress is seen. I have tried severl different scans with 13 threads down to 1 thread and I still get the same problem but on different points.

I have some screen shots of where the program stops scanning if that would be helpful.

Task manager shows it using as much CPU as available. Several times this has caused the pc to stop and I have had to use the power button to shut the PC off.

I am running the latest version which I downloaded today.

I am seeing the same here as well.

It gets down to one thread and never finishes.

Task Manager shows ~50% CPU usage.

I found this answer in Tech Support and it worked for me...

Hello Iain,

Look in Registry Cleaner, under "Advanced options" if the option "Don't show items that would be automatically re-created" is activated.

Probably this are entries recreated automatically or by Windows itself or by a correspondant software.

Your suggestion might help in some cases, but is not the root of the problem.

I had exactly the same problems when deleting registry entries through reg finder (an the registry entires were not protected or reinstalled). JV 2006 worked a lot faster and finished its jobs whereas JV 2007 was so slow that I could deleted entries faster by hand. (with JV2006 I had to restart the program allover gain after each deletion process however).

I have to go back and use the 2006 version until this is sorted out.

When observing these very slow processes I wished The program had a "STOP" function , to stop the registry search and to be able to apply the changes to the already sorted out keys. Abort - is not as helpful, as onehad to start allover again.

Since some days (it maybe five days) the registry cleaner stops working, having cleaned 40 %. Perhaps there is a change in XP. Is there an update or a workaround?

When I use File Cleaner it stops when it has finnished searching for files.

When it stops I can't select or do anything at all, the only solution is to end jv16 in the task manager.

Is there any solution to the problem?
