I carry my jv16 around as a diagnostic tool, and I'd love to put it on my 8GB USB Flash drive...is there a procedure for successfully doing that?

My goal is to have a jv16 "on the road." I never install the product on the target computer; I use it to, for example, flush the detritus from the registry.

The problem seems to be in the MainSettings.dat file, which has a drive letter on front of the DATA= value. But, of course, when one plugs in the memory stick, one never knows what drive letter is going to be assigned (not every computer has the wonderful USBDLM program installed; http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbdlm_e.html).

I've tried leaving the DATA= value empty, and that has the undesirable property of populating the directory where jv15PT.exe resides with another 13 *.dat files, which is confusing the next time I use the product on a different computer.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there another version of the product intended for this kind of use? Have I exceeded the authority of my five-user license?

Funny thing you mention this now, as I noticed the same issue just yesterday myself. I'll make a little tweak to the product so it doesn't contain a full path in the MainSettings.dat but only a relative one.

This improvement will be present in the next released version which will be released within two weeks. Thanks for the report.

This improvement has now been implemented, it will be present in the next released version of all our products.
