Registry damaged

Hello,

I have the PC system damaged:

I have two logical drives D: as main disk and C: as secondary disk.

If I select the C: drive the computer crashes showing the blue screen.

The same thing happens if I accomplish a search with regedit. The search starts and after a time more or less long the PC crashes as before.

Recently I dowloaded a trial of registry mechanic and tried to scan the registry. The scan proceeded normally and showed the problems were present but I was unable to correct them since it was a demo.

Then I have bought a regular copy of JV16 but using it I am unable to scan the registry since it crashes like during the manual search.

Apart this problem the system performs very well.

Some advice?

If using even the RegEdit causes the system to crash then it's no surprise that running jv16 PowerTools doesn't work either.

I'd recommend to reinstall Windows over the current installation, that should fix the problem but you wouldn't lose any your files.
