I just installed JV16 PT 2007 and understand it was supposed to overwrite 2006. But it didn't. I still have 2006 also. I can open both at the same time. During install, I directed the install to the same location of 2006, but it installed side by side and did not overwrite. Is there any issue I should be aware of before I uninstall and delete the 2006 version?

I always deletes the older version when installing a newer one.I've never had any problems with this software this way.I have it installed on my 3 home computers.

That's what I usually do also. But when I got the message about downloading the upgrade, it specifically said that no deletion or uninstallation is necessary. This is no problem. I can get rid of all old stuff. I just wondered if I did something wrong. I have found parts of 2005 also.

The new version can be installed over the old version, this means you must install the new version to the same installation directory where the old version has been installed.

By default the different versions (i.e. PT 2007, 2006, 2005) install themselves to a version specific directory, for example, c:\program files\jv16 PowerTools 2007\

In order to install the program over the previous version you must manually specify to the installation program that you wish to install the new version over the old one.

But don't worry, there's no problem if you have installed PT 2006 and PT 2007 to the same computer to different directories, they work as before and don't affect each other in any ways.
