Buggy 1.7.0.411???

I upgraded from version 1.7.0.405 to 1.7.0.411. I've run the 405 version (and earlier versions) on a daily base and occasionaly it found about 5 or 10 errors while using the aggressive mode.

However after installing the 411 version it suddenly finds 7.513 errors. These errors are all PhotoShop errors. The keys are all something like this:

HKCU\Software\Adobe\MediaBrowser\MRU\Photoshop\FileList\2007-08-13T07.203176Z\

When I try to delete them all, it takes about 1 second per key to delete! So deleting the whole would take about 7.513 seconds!?!? After about 2.000 deletions the program stops and tells me that 0 entries have been deleted. After a new scan the prgram comes up with the exact number of errors. I guess this is a major bug. I re-installed the 405 versions and... no errors found!

By the way I'm running it on XP with the latest updates.

The MRU scan in v 1.7.0.405 was doing little or nothing. The one in v 1.7.0.411 finds so many MRU entries that, I speculate, the high volume triggers new problems, perhaps related to program limits on virtual storage use.

Thanks for the info. But no matter what I do I can't delete any of these keys. I also tried to select a number (10 too 20) of these invalid keys and deleted them. But everytime they keep on coming back. So I think Macecraft must fix this bug in order to keep on using the progam.

Another thought:

* History Cleaner in v 1.7.0.411 was very slow on my system (I have only ~ 500 MRU items in the registry)

* ~ 70 seconds to complete the scan in v 1.7.0.411 versus ~ 5 seconds in v 1.7.0.405

* in v 1.7.0.413, the scan time is back to ~ 5 seconds

* if you were using 411, try 413 -- it is ~ 14 times faster against my Vista registry

* with 1000s of MRUs, it could take several minutes to complete your scan

* having a task manager window open on the performance tab lets you "see" what HC is doing cpu-wise

* unfortunately, 100% cpu could mean it's busy working, or could mean it's just looping -- I'd give it about 30 minutes before aborting ...

Well... with a little side tour I've made it thanks to your suggestion. I re-installed the 405 version and did the Hystory Cleaner in that version. I cleaned all the PhotoShop keys. Re-installed the 411 version and run the program in aggressive mode once again. Thank God all the 7.513 PhotoShop keys were gone. Now it only found about 100 keys wich I could delete! Thanks a lot Tullik!! You just made my day!!!

Great! I like History Cleaner over Registry Cleaner for cleaning MRUs. It's much faster -- doesn't have to keep all the presentation data in virtual storage ...

After using Hystory Cleaner I guess I do like it over Registry Cleaner too. It is much faster as you say!

This bug is now fixed, thank you for reporting. The fixed version will be released in this week.
