AVG 7.5 declares jv16PT.exe a virus

Running JV16 PT 2007 and AVG 7.5 Network edition on Vista Business, fully patched

AVG has picked on jv16PT.exe and moved it to the virus vault advising it is infected with Obfustat.APH

Gives file size of 974.5Kb (987888 bytes) and delares not healable.

Any comments?

Thanks for pointing that out so quickly.

In my defense when AVG picked it up on 15.7.07 I did search both Macecraft and AVG sites on 16.07.07 our time (we are downunder) with no luck!

Tried this forum to be advised ut was down until 22.7.07 hence my posting here.

This has happened again today 9/12 with AVG database 269.13.16/1004 on my version of jvPT 2006. Marked as virus Obfustat.ODE. After deleting the JV16PT.exe from the virus vault, shutting down AVG and reinstalling JV16PT I cannot start the program--fails with " Windows can not access the specified device, fault or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item". What's going on here? Installing and reinstalling does not help. How can I restore jv16PT?

Please ignore the request above; I turned off the "resident shield" in AVG and can now run JV16PT.exe. Posting problem to AVG free BB.

Received following email overnight from AVG:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email.

We did an analysis of this file you have sent to us and we can confirm that the detection is false positive. We apologize you for all inconvenience caused by the false detection of sent file. The detection will be removed in the next virus base update.

If you need to restore this file from the AVG Virus Vault, please open this Vault (in AVG -> upper menu Program -> Launch Virus Vault), right-click on the file and

choose "Restore File". The file will be placed to its previous location.

Had this problem too. I followed the instructions in the letter from AVG and it's seems to be workng now. :)
